Matsudo, in Chiba Prefecture, developed as a post-town in the Edo era and currently has a population of almost half a million people. It is known for tasty pears and Japanese long leeks. The Edo River flows nearby and has beautiful Cosmos flowers in the fall. Ramen is a popular dish in the city of Matsudo. From Tokyo Station, it takes less than 30 minutes to reach Matsudo, and from Matsudo Station and Haneda or Narita airport are in close proximity. The JR Jōban Line, the JR Musashino Line, Shin-Keisei Line, the Hokusō Line, the Keisei Narita Airport Line, the Tōbu Noda Line and the Nagareyama Line all have access in Matsudo.
