Three Story Pagoda at Naritasan Shinso-ji Temple in Narita

Narita is a city east of Tokyo located in Chiba Prefecture. The city has an old traditional atmosphere and a pleasant place to visit. The main shopping street is called Omotesando near Naritasan complex with many wooden buildings lining the streets selling items like senbei, tsukemono, and unagi eel. The main attraction of Narita is Naritasan Shinso-ji, a Buddhist temple. The temple deity is Fudo Myo-o and has long been known as “Narita Fudo”. It is a center of Fudoson belief and about 3 million people visit the temple from January 1st to January 3rd for new years prayer. To travel to Narita from Tokyo one can take either the Keisei trains or JR trains Joban line and Narita line.

Kita-Senju in Tokyo

Night time on the West-side of Kita-Senju Station

Kita-Senju is located in Adachi Ward in Tokyo and is full of parks, old-school shopping streets, and a famous fireworks festival. It is known as an Edo-period postal town, where travelers stopped for the night before making their way to the city center. Kita-Senju Station is the third busiest station on the Tokyo Metro Network. It is one of Tokyo’s leading terminal stations with connecting trains such as JR Joban Line, JR Narita Line, and JR Ueno-Tokyo Line. Non-JR railway services include the Hibiya and Chiyoda Line, Tobu Skytree Line, and Tsukuba Express. I’ve visited Kita-Senju several times and it is less crowded but as appealing as other popular areas of Tokyo.
