Himeji Castle

Himeji Castle is a World Cultural Heritage Site and National Treasure. It is also called the “White Heron Castle” due to it’s white covered walls. The modern form of the castle was constructed in 1609 and has been immaculately maintained for over 400 years. There was recent restoration when the castle was closed from 2009 to 2015. Himeji Castle is located in Himeji City in Hyogo Prefecture in Japan.
